Manitoba Advocate releases 2019-20 Annual Report
The Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth (MACY) Daphne Penrose has released her fourth annual report, which provides a summary of the activities and initiatives undertaken by her office over the 2019-20 fiscal year. Along with the annual report, Penrose released a child- and youth-friendly companion document, “Nothing About Us, Without Us,” focused on the accomplishments of the office’s Youth Engagement program and Youth Ambassador Advisory Squad (YAAS!).

Manitoba Advocate launches survey for parents and caregivers of children and youth with disabilities
After receiving significant feedback and concerns from stakeholders in the disabilities sector, the Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth (MACY) is embarking on her first major child death investigation and research project into the provincial disabilities system, which requires input from parents and caregivers of children and youth with disabilities.
Manitoba Advocate Daphne Penrose is inviting parents and guardians to participate in a new survey launched today. Responses will be collected online until November 8, 2020 and will be used to inform policy recommendations made to government in the year ahead.
